In the EU member states, including Austria, you can ask for help on the 112
European emergency number day and night.
The phone number can also be dialed from a network or from a wireless mobile phone. The call runs to the police station
where they will be sent to the ambulance or the fire department. The caller must provide four basic information: the
caller's name, location, event and number of injured persons.
In addition, in Austria, people with disabilities, can send for a free SMS message at 0800 133 133
, too. The SMS
message will be converted to Telecom Austria by fax, and sent to the center of Vienna. An email address was also created
(firstname.lastname@example.org), where disabled people can also ask for police or other help.
